Bill Foster is a former head baseball coach of Alcorn State University. He is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame. Foster also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Mets. He was inducted into the baseball hall of fame in 1986. He also played in the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in 1987. He played for Alcorn in the mid-'70s and early '80s. He died in a car accident in 2008. He has a daughter and a son, both of whom play for the Alcorn Redbirds. He had a son and a daughter-in-law who are both currently playing in the major leagues. His son is a professional baseball player for the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox, and his daughter is a high school coach for the University of South Carolina-Chapel Hill Cougars. His daughter is also a baseball player, playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks in the NCAA Division I level of the National Football League. She also has a son who plays for the U.S. college level team, South Carolina State University-Championship Baseball.
