Russellville is a census-designated place in Hamblen County, Tennessee, United States. It is located along U.S. Route 11E-Tennessee State Route 34 (US 11E/SR 34) It is situated approximately at a midpoint between Whitesburg and Morristown. In the mid and early twentieth century, Russellville was a hub for production and distribution of bootleg whiskey. As of 2020, portions of the Russellville community, including an industrial park, have been annexed into the city limits of Morristtown. The nearby Bethesda Presbyterian Church was used as a hospital during the Civil War and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has many wartime burials, 80 of which are unidentified, and was used by the Confederate army for their winter camp of 1863-64. It was also used as the site of the Battle of Bean's Station in December 1863. The town is located on the Tennessee River, which runs through the center of the county. The Tennessee River is a tributary of the Cumberland River. It runs through Russellville and runs into the East Fork of the Roanoke River. Russellville is located near the junction of US 11E and SR 34, and is near the town of Whitesburg. The city is located in the eastern part of the state, near the county seat of Morristown, and the state line with Tennessee at the Tennessee State University of Wrightsville.

History
Russellville was founded by George Russell in 1784. During the American Civil War, Confederate Lieutenant General James Longstreet established a headquarters in the Nenney House. The house still stands and has been converted into The General Longstreet Museum. The nearby Bethesda Presbyterian Church was used as a hospital during the Civil War and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. As of 2020, portions of the Russellville community, including an industrial park, have been annexed into the city limits of Morristown. The town is located in Greene County, North Carolina, near the border with South Carolina. It has a population of about 2,000, with most of its residents living in or near the town center. It is located on the banks of the Little River, which flows into the Piedmont River, which runs through the town. The community is home to the North Carolina State Museum, which was established in 1864. The museum is open to the public.
