Royersford is a borough in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, United States, 32 miles (51 km) northwest of Philadelphia, on the Schuylkill River. The borough was formed from the southeastern corner of Limerick Township in 1879. As of the 2010 census, the borough was 89.7% White, 5.1% Black or African American, 0.2% Asian, and 2.4% were two or more races. The population stood at 2,607 people in 1900, and at 3,073 in 1910, and is expected to reach 4,940 at the 2020 census. The Continental Stove Works was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986. Holy Cross College in Holy Cross was formed in 2012 by the merger of Holy Cross High School in Royersford and Sacred Heart College in St. Cross, Holy Cross, and Holy Cross Regional Catholic High School. The town drew its name from the location of a ford, which happened to be adjacent to land owned by the Royer family. It is located at 40°117N 75°3216W (40.185239, -75.537648) and has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km²) (4.88% of the borough is water) The borough is served by the Spring-Ford Area School District, which operates public schools in the Holy Cross and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic schools. History

The Philadelphia Inquirer won the Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 2010 for its coverage of Royersford. The New York City Police Department won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Investigative Reporting in 2011 for their coverage of the borough. The Pennsylvania Department of Public Safety won the award for its reporting on the 2010 Super Bowl XLIX coverage. The city also won an Emmy for the 2010 World Series coverage of Superbowl XLIX, which was held in Philadelphia. The game was the first ever to be held in the city's Freedom Park, which is located on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It was the second time the city had hosted a Super Bowl game in the history of the event. The first was in 1964.

Parts of the classic 1958 horror film The Blob, starring Steve McQueen, were filmed in Royersford. The Lovely Bones, starring Mark Wahlberg, directed by Peter Jackson, was filmed in the borough in late November 2007. The Bloodhound Gang's most famous album, Hooray for Boobies, was recorded at Dome Studios on Main Street. A scene in M. Night Shyamalan's 2015 film The Visit was filmed at the intersection of Washington Street and South 7th Avenue. A local middle school, the Spring-Ford Eighth Grade Center, was used as the backdrop for a scene in The Visit. The borough is home to a number of well-known landmarks, including the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, the Royal Infirmary of Wales, and the Royal School of Music and Drama, which was founded in 1872. The Royal Hospital of Sick Children was founded by the Reverend William Henry Rennie, who was the first headmaster of the Royal High School for Sick children. The hospital was opened in 1876 and is still in use today. It is located on the edge of the borough, near the junction of South and Washington Streets, and was the site of the town's first school, which opened in the 19th century. It has since become a popular tourist attraction, particularly for its views of the River Mersey and its surrounding countryside. The town is also home to the Royal Museum of Sickness and Remembrance, which dates back to the 17th century and was built in the early 19th Century. The museum is located in the town centre and is open to visitors.
