Brighton is a city in southeastern Livingston County, Michigan, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 7,444. Brighton forms part of the South Lyon-Howell-Brighton Urban Area. History

Brighton was established in 1832. It was incorporated as a village in 1867 and as a city in 1928. It is located in the South East of England, near the border with Wales. The city is home to the Brighton and Hove Festival, which takes place in the summer. It also has its own museum, the Brighton Museum, which is open to the public in the winter. Brighton Area Schools has 2 middle schools-Scranton and Maltby, a high school, and a few elementary schools. There is three private elementary and middle schools: Cornerstone Church And School, Holy Sprit Academy, and Shepheard of the Lakes Lutheran School. The high school is Livingston Christian High School, and there is a middle school (same name) The middle school is also called Livingston Middle School and is located in the same building as the high school. The elementary school is called Scranton Elementary School and has a few different names. The middle and high schools are called Maltby Elementary and Livingston High School. It is also known as the "Middle School of the Lake" because of its location in the middle of the lake. It has two elementary schools and one middle school. It also has a private high school called Livingston Christian School, which is located on Livingston Road.
